This course will explore how the process of the Spiritual Exercises transforms the persons relationship with God but also their approach to life, priorities, choices and attitudes forming a way of living. We will explore the dynamic of action and contemplation fostered in the process of the Exercises through looking at the process of the Exercises, the notion of imitating Jesus and working with Him for the greater glory of God. This course is aimed to those who would like to know the Exercises in more depth

Session 1. Overview of the Exercises

  • Background to the Exercises
  • An overview of the process of the Exercises looking at the graces and the colloquies of the 4 weeks

Session 2. Imitation of Jesus

  • Jesus as the model of transformation in the Second and Third week 
  • Exploring some if the key exercises, such as The Two Standards

Session 3. Co-workers with Christ

  • Exploring the notion of being co-workers with Christ 
  • The Kingdom Exercises and the Contemplatio 

Session 4. To the greater Glory of God

  • The correlation between Discernment – Mission - Spiritual Direction
  • Exploring the aim, ‘To the Greater Glory of God’
